will be assisting in the running of all Road races up to end of April, and from
1 May 2006 onwards, we are pleased to announce that Sporting Spectrum will be
taking over the running of all Road events. For the first race, we will still
be relying on the kind assistance of volunteers so if you would like to assist

Rules
and Regulations
ADDITIONAL RACE INFO & SPECIFIC RULES
(important)
Which supplements and supercedes the General Rules and Regulations on our
website
Pls note, NO sleeveless jerseys & Arrow bars allowed!
1) CRITERIUM - HOW IT
WORKS
For example: For the Ladies Open category where the race
distance/duration is 20 mins + 3 laps. The ladies will ride for 20 mins. When
the 20 mins are up, a bell will be rung to indicate that there are 3 more laps
to go.
After each category allocated ‘Time’, the bell will ring as the
Lead rider approaches the start/finish line after the final bend to signal 3
Laps remaining. (Only 1 bell to indicate Final Lap for YOUTHS)
The bell will ring one last time to signal the start of the ‘Final’
lap.
2) FREE LAPS
In the event that any rider encounters a mechanical problem, he/she is allowed
to perform repairs on the bicycle. No outside assistance is allowed.
The bicycle must be removed from the racecourse so as to not impede the race.
An official may be stationed at that location to ensure compliance.
The rider is given 2 free laps and if he/she joins the race
anytime within these 2 free laps, he/she is still in the race. However, if
he/she fails to join the race within the 2 free laps, then he/she is
automatically disqualified from the race and will not be classified.
Scenario 1 - If the rider is the lead rider when the mechanical problem occurs,
the 2 free laps will begin immediately i.e. when the new lead rider comes round
again, there will only be 1 free lap left.
Scenario 2 - If the rider is not the lead rider when the mechanical problem
occurs, the 2 laps will only begin the next time the lead rider comes round.
If the mechanical problem occurs during the last 3 laps, the rider is
disqualified from the race.
3) FEEDING
No feeding will be allowed. Riders are to carry their own water
bottles/feeding bags and they are not allowed to dispose of them anytime during
the race. Any disposal will be considered as littering and dumping on the
racecourse and race organisers shall have a right to disqualify the rider.
4) NUMBER TAG LOCATION
& ISSUING
Please keep the issued number tags (pair) for the race series 2006
& state your number on the entry form when you register for the next races.
If you have lost your number tags or failed to bring along in the next race, a
S$5/- replacement fee will be charged for a new one.
Tags must be pinned down securely on all four corners of the Number tag:
1 on the middle pocket-rear of jersey and 1 in the horizontal position, on the
LEFT side of the jersey.
Race organisers have the right to disqualify the riders in
the following cases: -
i) Number tags cannot be seen by the officials; or
ii) Number tags cannot be picked up by the stationary video camera positioned
at the start/finish line; or
iii) Have only one number tag on.
5) RIDERS WHO ARE
LAPPED
A rider is lapped if the lead rider passes the lapped rider i.e. the
lead rider's rear bicycle wheel passes the front wheel of the lapped rider
If any rider is lapped, he/she will be disqualified and will not be classified.
A lapped rider is to leave the racecourse immediately.
An official may be stationed at that location to ensure compliance and the
safety of the riders. Race organisers have the right to disqualify the rider
and take disciplinary actions against the rider due to any non-compliance.
6) CLOSURE OF
The race route will be closed and hence, off-limits to any rider. Any rider
caught practicing/warming-up on the race route after it has been closed will be
issued a warning. A subsequent contravention of this will result in immediate
disqualification from the race.
Riders may practice/warm-up anywhere outside the race route. Please
practice/warm-up safely and be mindful of traffic conditions at all times.
7) ROLL CALL
Roll call will no longer be practised, except for the Youth A and B
Categories. All competitors are required
to sign-on at the Sign-on area, which will close 15 minutes before the
scheduled start time for his or her event.
Failure to do so will result in non ranking of the competitor/s even if
he or she starts, and finishes the event in a points finishing position, as
their status would have been reflected as Did-Not-Start (DNS). There will be no refund for absentees.
If you have any inquiries, pls send them to road@cycling.org.sg.
