RESPEDA
SERIES
The amateur racing series for next year have
now being firmed up. We named it Respeda Series (Respeda = Race
Speda = Bicycle Race) and there will be
10 races planned - 6 'flat' routes and 4 KOMs. Tentatively,
the races in the Respeda Series will be on the following
dates:
The Flats
11 Jan 04 - Malacca
20 Mar - Negri
Sembilan

Selangor
17 July -
Perak or Putra Jaya
18 Sep -
Kedah

Oct -
Genting Challenge
It is going to be a team race whereby all team riders who
raced in their own categories will contribute points
to their teams as follows:
4 points for winner
3 points for 2nd
2 points for 3rd
1 point for all
finishers
And the maximum number of riders per team will be 10 and
in the following age categories:
30 and below,
3 riders
31 - 40 2
riders
41 - 50
2 riders
51 and above
1 rider
women (open)
2 riders
A team could still race with less
than 10 riders per team but the team would then lose on points
from categories where they have no riders. At
the end of the 'season' the team with the highest aggregate points
will be declared the year's champion. Please get you teams ready
as the first race of the Respeda Series will be very soon on 11
January 2004 in Melaka.
